Amazing Volunteers!

Gertrude Vogel dedicates countless hours every week sorting donations and selecting items that are suitable for her annual "yard sale" that has grown so big that it is now held each summer at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. Gertrude is part of the HMHI family and can usually be found around the office or organizing donations all year round! This fund raising event has become a huge funding source and the staff is grateful for all of her hard work and dedication to this project. |

Paul and Billie spend 6 months each year volunteering at HMHI. They rejoined us in May. Billie works in the office helping with social media projects including HMHI's venture into blogging, FaceBook, Twitter and YouTube! Paul helps with rehab and maintenance projects preparing apartments for new families. We are so grateful for the dedication and wonderful work that they offer HMHI. |

The agency is blessed with hard-working, dedicated volunteers that come in and do projects that we just don't have the manpower to cover. HMHI is always welcoming volunteers to do yard work at sites, clean and paint apartments to prepare for new participants, help in the office, etc. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our office during business hours at 563-326-1330 and we will always be happy to find a project suitable for you and/or your group or contact Kate King at hmhiowa@netexpress.net |

S. Miriam is shown here enjoying the company of a participant's child during the bi-weekly group meetings that parents attend. At these meetings, parents have the opportunity to learn about a wide range of topics such as budgeting, first aid, self-defense, parenting, etc. Participants are also able to relax for this hour knowing that their children are in the loving hands of volunteers that become great friends with the little ones attending. HMHI is very grateful for the dedication that these women have and the genuine love that is given each child as their parents are provided enrichment opportunities. |
